To grow inclusive and equitable education initiatives in low and middle-income countries by putting books and digital literacy tools in the hands and minds of children.

We believe that literacy is truly at the core of human development, and it is our responsibility to provide developing countries with books, libraries, and literacy education.

How We Achieve This

Communities

Harnessing the power of community is the first step to a sustainable future. The Literate Earth Project collaborates with communities to create, equip, and staff our libraries. By building community investment we create a foundation for continued success.

Support

We firmly believe in providing our communities with the support necessary to sustain the continued growth and development of libraries and literacy programs. We do this by providing training to communities, teachers, and staff that enable them to fully utilize the libraries as sources of information and learning. 

Education

Through partnerships with local publishers, government officials, educators, and other nonprofits we are able to customize the content within libraries to ensure that students have access to books that are relevant to both their education and culture. This allows The Literate Earth Project to have a direct impact on the quality of education school-age children receive.
